Paediatric Podiatry
Little feet have a big job to do.
Did you know…?
- The bones in a child’s foot are not fully formed until they are in their late teens.
- A child between the ages of 5 and 12 averages an annual foot growth rate of 9mm.
- By 8 years of age, the average child will have walked 11,500km, which is almost the equivalent of walking from Sydney to Perth 3 times!
Does your child…?
- Complain of leg pain after playing sport?
- Wake up in the night with pains in his or her legs?
- Walk with a bouncy gait?
- Have flat feet?
- Have ingrown toe nails?
- Experience shin or heel pain?
- Toe walk?
- Walk in-toe or out-toe?
- Have tight calf muscles?
- Struggle walking straight?
These are common childhood foot complaints that we at Sole-lution Podiatry experience. At times, they may need some extra support to help them develop. We can help by providing the stabilisation needed to assist in correct structural development. We also give advice on appropriate footwear as well as structured exercise programs, which are essential for growing, active feet and lower limbs.
